Roger the Badger

This young badger was stranded just a couple of feet off of Highway 1, between the road and a steep muddy slope. We believe this little rarely glimpsed critter had slid down the steep hillside and though unhurt, was unable to climb back up.
After being sighted two days in a row in the same spot by Coast Life Support District ambulance crews as they drove by, they alerted a friend who called us, knowing we have experience with Wildlife, in hopes we could be of help to it.
We arrived on scene as soon as we could, and as we were attempting to get this VERY fiesty little Badger into a milk carton box safely, we were thrilled that out of the blue, a nice fellow from Parks Service pulled over as he saw us, and gave us a helpful hand, thankfully, as it took all 3 of us. We all then climbed up to a green grassy flat meadow area adjacent to where it likely had fallen from and released it there, safe from the harm of traffic, where he could now burrow away and find itself some nourishment. A good and happy outcome!
